Sporting Kansas City's President of Soccer Operations and General Manager David Lee is looking to add four to seven new players to the team's roster. The signings are expected to include three defenders, three attackers, and a midfielder. This move comes after the team wrapped up the first chunk of the 2026 Major League Soccer season with a valiant performance against the New York Red Bulls. Despite not earning a result, the team heads into the World Cup break in its best form of the year, having won two of their last three games and picked up seven points in the final five games. The team's roster head coach Raphael Wicky was dealing with was over-performing, and the break will allow them to improve. President of Soccer Operations and General Manager David Lee sounds like he's going to give Wicky plenty of reinforcements before the season resumes against St. Louis City on July 16. Lee has confirmed that the signings do not include new Sporting Kansas City center back, Or Blorian, who is set to join on a pre-contract in June after he joins Israel for National Team camp. Lee's track record has been a common complaint at New York City FC, where things not moving as quickly as fans would like. However, it remains to be seen how realistic it is that Lee will actually get this done at Sporting Kansas City.
